Newberry, S.C.--- What are you doing Thursday September 26? Newberry College Field Hockey team has their home opener at Setzler Field against Mount Olive.
The team is coming off of a 2-0 win against #10 Indian University of Pennsylvania. Head Coach Hannah Dave says, “I am feeling good about our game coming up. This past weekend we really learned a lot about ourselves as a team, and pushed through challenging situations. Mount olive is a young, but very competitive team and I’m confident that if we transfer our play from this past weekend into the next game we will see some great results.” The wolves are 2-2 this year with all of their games being played on the road.
The wolves are led by a strong senior class. Brady Keeler is the top goal scorer and is looking to bring up her stats in her final season as a wolf. Kristyna Oyola is also a strong forward and a threat in the circle. They have a strong defensive unit lead by senior Elise Utne. She is followed by strong underclassman with freshman Charlotte Bragard in the cage.
